Y Books publishes commercial non-fiction with a strong emphasis on telling the stories of extraordinary lives lived by extraordinary people. We are committed to establishing new non-fiction talent in both the Irish and international markets.

We are currently interested in receiving submissions in the following categories: True Crime, Biography/Memoir, Lifestyle, History and general Irish Interest. We do not accept submissions for Fiction, Poetry, or Children’s books.

Unfortunately, due to time constraints, Y Books is not in a position to offer critiques of any unsolicited manuscripts we receive.

Should you wish to submit a project, please send us a synopsis – no longer than one page – and two or three sample chapters.

We will accept submissions by email or by post. If you are sending your submission by post, please include return postage. Material will not be returned without paid IRISH POSTAGE.

Material is submitted at your own risk. Please do not send your only copy and do not send original photographs.

Please allow six to eight weeks for a response. As the number of unsolicited manuscripts requiring review can be quite high, it sometimes can take a little longer.
